Many thanks to all teachers and staff for the commitment, resilience and hard work in planning and delivering a fantastic week of activities last week. All students showed a lot of enthusiasm and it was nice to see how engaged they were in learning new skills.
Congratulations to our LS9 students who enjoyed their last forest school session last week. They were joined by some keen members of the Level 2 program and thanks to Miss Zaraat’s support they were able to try kayaking for the first time.
We are proud to announce that our school has achieved IQM Flagship School status again.
IQM Flagship School award recognises those unique schools who played a strong leadership role in developing inclusion best practice in their school or a network of schools. It promotes equal opportunities for all pupils, regardless of their age, gender, ethnicity, attainment and background. An inclusive school is defined by Ofsted as one in which the teaching and learning, achievements, attitudes and well-being of every student matter.
Congratulations to Ms Edwards and Ms Ernestine and to our 24 enthusiastic year 12 students for a fantastic Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award expedition to Wales last week. A compelling account of their experience can be read below:
