We had the rare privilege of meeting HRH The Princess of Wales during the Children’s Mental Health Week 2019 when HRH visited our school. The Princess came to find out more about our wellbeing programmes, she took part in our Random Acts of Kindness club, and before departing, she dropped in to an art and textiles class to see how the school uses art to enhance children’s confidence and wellbeing.

F1 Champion Lewis Hamilton
Sir Lewis Hamilton visited Alperton Community School on two occasions. He assisted to some of our lessons, played basketball with our Year 8’s and as part of his work with Togetherband, he talked to our students as an ambassador for equality and education, further inspiring and motivating their future goals.
Historian Simon Schama
Historian Simon Schama
English historian and media icon Simon Schama visited our school back in 2019 and during a special workshop explored with some of our students various topics related to Art History. Our students had some fantastic questions for Simon, discussing his career, books and interest in Art History.

Our staff and students were delighted to welcome to our school singer and author Alesha Dixon who visited Alperton to talk about her children’s book Lightning Girl. Students were thrilled to have the opportunity to take part in a short live performance and also to be able to ask her questions about her new book and her successful career.

Koo Stark is an old friend of Alperton Community School. She visited us on a number of occasions delivering workshops to our art and photography students. One of their main projects was the Kinstugi Art Installation which was displayed at Leica Gallery Mayfair.

Broadcaster Melvyn Bragg
Melvyn Bragg visited our school on a number of occasions and was impressed with the school and the achievements of our students. Melvyn had a particular interest in the value of arts in education and donated this wonderful piano to the school to further support the arts education in our school.

Our staff and students had the pleasure of meeting BBC celebrity, Martin Dougan, during his visit to our school as part of the educational project ‘BBC100 Share Your Story’, celebrating BBC‘s 100th birthday. Students were thrilled to be able to ask him and the other guests questions about their careers and learn more about their stories.
