Three of our Year 13 Textiles students took part in the World Final of the Junk Kouture competition that took place in Dublin at the beginning of March. Junk Kouture is a global fashion competition where participants are required to produce garments from recycled materials.
This was an amazing achievement for our students to be shortlisted for the final of such a competitive competition, and while our team did not win a prize, the students gained so much from the trip, from meeting students of different nationalities, to learning about sustainability, creativity and the need to drive forward the circular economy.
The trip was an amazing success and all students felt the competition helped them get out of their comfort zone and improve their confidence skills and were grateful for the opportunity.
