This weekend, four Alperton students braved the Saturday afternoon rain to get involved in the London’s biggest event of mass tree-planting, sponsored by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan.
The scheme had a workforce of 15,000 volunteers who worked towards planting a combined 80,000 trees across the capital to help London become the world’s first ‘national park city’.
On Saturday, our students – Jonathan Castelino, Elroy Dias, Pragnesh Hasmukh and Yash Samgi – and other volunteers from Brent Council and Veolia planted fifty trees (English Oak, Silver Birch, Beech, Hornbeam and Alder) at One Tree Hill Park.
Alperton Community School is grateful to Wembley Central and Alperton Residents’ Association for organising the event and for dedicating trees to the school. Also many thanks to Brent Council and Veolia for all their support with this amazing project.
