This term our school donated 75 boxes of textbooks to schools in the rural areas of Ghana. Many thanks to our sponsor SAL Consult Limited, a multidisciplinary water and environmental consultancy company based in Accra, Ghana, who supported this action and covered all the delivery costs.
The books were presented to Bishop Mixed Junior High school in Accra, by the Anglican educational unit, Diocese of Accra.
Mr Alfred Adjirakor, Regional Manager of Schools in Accra, was very pleased with the donation and expressed his gratitude to our organisers: “We are grateful for your donation of books to the Anglican educational unit, which will be distributed to our rural areas of GA West, district GA East, GA South, Bingo Prampram and the Accra Metro school. We intend on giving the books to the schools during the first day at school for the 2017/2018 academic year. We are grateful to all who donated books to the Unit. God richly bless you all.”
Another shipment is also planned for July, when our school no longer needs textbooks relevant to the old GCSE specification. Special thanks to Mr. Al-Araimy and Ms. Asaam for their efforts in organising this.
