On Wednesday 13th December twenty Alperton students from year 7 and 8 were lucky enough to attend a private screening of the Dr Who episode ‘Twice Upon A Time’ which premiered on Christmas Day. Not only did the event allow the students to watch the episode before release, but they were also able to attend a press conference style Q&A with the writer of the show, Steven Moffat.
The event took place at the Science Museum in South Kensington, which had already impressed the students; however, their amazement continued to enhance throughout the day. Getting VIP access through the museum, the students were escorted to the IMAX cinema, where they watched the brilliant new episode together with other lucky students from other schools.
After the screening the students had the opportunity to then ask questions about the show directly to the writer of the episode. There was a positive reception from every audience member and some students were even brought to tears of joy. Steven was very professional, witty and displayed his passion for his job through every action. This was an excellent opportunity for our students to hear directly from someone inside the Media industry and to be able to ask related questions.
On the journey back students were discussing the event with passion and also how they wanted to watch the episode again.
