On Monday, 30 September, we had the pleasure of welcoming to our school the author Nikesh Shukla, who delivered a special one-hour talk to our staff and students. He also conducted an inspirational workshop for a group of Year 9 students who are currently studying his book The Boxer, and having the opportunity to meet the author and learn how this novel became his most treasured work was a powerful experience.

During the workshop, the author spoke about the roots of the text that closely mirrors the main character in the novel, sparking significant conversation about the relevance of the protagonist in The Boxer.

At the end of his visit, the author praised the students for their thoughtfulness and for asking such insightful questions. We are very grateful to Nikesh Shukla for visiting us and we’d like to thank our English Department for organising this unique opportunity for our students.
