Sixth form students visit the Emmanuel Centre for the annual hazard conference

On Friday 24th November the geography sixth form students visited the Emmanuel Centre to attend the annual Hazards Conference. Various presenters from different universities and exam boards, including Dr. Martin Degg from the University of Chester and experienced AQA examiner David Redfern, presented a lecture regarding a special topic related to hazard specification, which will enhance the students’ knowledge about the topic. Excellent Sixth Form Open Evening at our Stanley Avenue site

On Thursday 23 November we hosted our annual Sixth Form Open Evening at our Stanley Avenue school. We were delighted to welcome so many students and parents to the event and to receive such excellent feedback. Between 27th-30th November, the school libraries are hosting the Scholastic book fairs! This is a fantastic opportunity for students to buy new books at discounted prices. From classics to brand new releases, as well as TikTok favourites, there is a range of books for everyone.

The Art and DT Faculties of Alperton Community School invites our school community to the Art, Textiles and Photography Exhibition at the Grand Union Community Hub on Friday 17 November 2023 from 4.30pm – 7pm.

KS3 and KS4 students take part in Spanish project to celebrate The Day of the Death

On Tuesday 31st  and Wednesday 1st November our KS3 and KS4 students took part in an exciting project during their Spanish lessons to celebrate The Day of the Death, a festival celebrated in Spanish-speaking countries. Students created their own festival masks, learning about the Mexican festival and their traditional food and culture. Many thanks to Ms Lopez for organising this activity for our students. They really enjoyed the experience and helped them learn about Spanish festivals as part of the GCSE scheme of learning. Below you can see some of their work. (more…)

Inspirational science trip to Queen Mary University

On Wednesday 18 October, 26 of our A Level Physics and Chemistry students, accompaniedScience trip to the QMUL by Dr Mahmoud and Ms Saini, travelled to Queen Mary University of London for a day packed with exciting workshops and activities.

The event was organised by Dr Mahmoud over the summer holiday and it included workshops by Dr Chianello (Chemistry and Physics) and Dr Hunt (Physics) delivered  specifically for our students. (more…)

LAMDA Drama School delivers incredible performance of ‘Romeo and Juliet’

On Tuesday 17 October LAMDA Drama School visited our school and put on a riveting performance of Romeo and Juliet for our Year 9 English students. The performance was a huge success! Students and teachers alike were spell-bound by the amazing stagecraft and acting of the cast and crew, and were grateful for this enriching experience that helped them appreciate Shakespeare’s mastery.
