On Tuesday, 28th November, a Careers Fair for the KS4 and KS5 students took place in the main hall at Stanley Avenue.
There were almost 20 companies attending including Ernst and Young, The Army, Telford Homes, Asian Media and Cap Gemini and there were a wide range of different professions represented such as: ICT, engineering, artists, acting, construction and hospitality. (more…)
Congratulations to all students who took part in the Brent Climate Artwork Competition. Students have used their creativity and put a lot of thought and effort into creating these wonderful inspirational artworks about climate change. Well done to all students.
On Tuesday 29th of November, as part of our annual Careers Fair for KS4 and KS5 students, our Science teacher, Mr Mahmoud, invited two guest speakers in the field of engineering, Charlie (Consultant for Transport for London) and Sylvie (Robotics). The guests kindly brought schematics of things they worked on, such as frames of train tracks and a bluetooth-operated robot. On Friday 24th November the geography sixth form students visited the Emmanuel Centre to attend the annual Hazards Conference. Various presenters from different universities and exam boards, including Dr. Martin Degg from the University of Chester and experienced AQA examiner David Redfern, presented a lecture regarding a special topic related to hazard specification, which will enhance the students’ knowledge about the topic. On Thursday 23 November we hosted our annual Sixth Form Open Evening at our Stanley Avenue school. We were delighted to welcome so many students and parents to the event and to receive such excellent feedback. Our student ambassadors were extremely helpful throughout the evening and gave the prospective students and parents tours around the school. (more…)

The Art and DT Faculties of Alperton Community School invites our school community to the Art, Textiles and Photography Exhibition at the Grand Union Community Hub on Friday 17 November 2023 from 4.30pm – 7pm.

On Tuesday 31st and Wednesday 1st November our KS3 and KS4 students took part in an exciting project during their Spanish lessons to celebrate The Day of the Death, a festival celebrated in Spanish-speaking countries. Students created their own festival masks, learning about the Mexican festival and their traditional food and culture. Many thanks to Ms Lopez for organising this activity for our students. They really enjoyed the experience and helped them learn about Spanish festivals as part of the GCSE scheme of learning. Below you can see some of their work. (more…)
On Wednesday 18 October, 26 of our A Level Physics and Chemistry students, accompanied
by Dr Mahmoud and Ms Saini, travelled to Queen Mary University of London for a day packed with exciting workshops and activities.
The event was organised by Dr Mahmoud over the summer holiday and it included workshops by Dr Chianello (Chemistry and Physics) and Dr Hunt (Physics) delivered specifically for our students. (more…)
