On Tuesday 5 February we had the great honour and privilege to welcome to our school HRH the Duchess of Cambridge. The Duchess came to find out more about our wellbeing programmes supporting our students and teachers as part of Children’s Mental Health Week 2019. She was greeted by our Headteacher Gerard McKenna and our Art & Textiles teacher Andria Zafirakou, the first UK winner of the Global Teacher Prize. (more…)

On Wednesday 23 January two of our Year 10 students, Nabiha Shaikh and Muzaina Shah, took part in the regional final of the prestigious Jack Petchey’s Speak Out Challenge. Both students did incredibly well and Nabiha won the second place in the competition. (more…)
On Friday our Year 8 students enjoyed a series of exciting workshops with the National Youth Circus. The workshops were organised by Mousetrap Theatre Projects and were both fun and engaging, getting the students to work together in groups and try out their abilities at juggling, tightrope walking and other exciting activities. Last week our Year 7 and Year 10 students enjoyed two excellent Literacy Drop Down days. The students participated in a series of workshops delivered by Values and Visions, an educational organisation working with young people to help them develop their inner strength and confidence. (more…)

This week, our Drama Department showcased an amazing rendition of J.M Barrie’s Peter Pan in order to raise money for the charity Great Ormond Street Hospital. Our students worked tremendously hard for this production and we were very proud to see so many excellent performances. (more…)
