Year 13 Alperton Community School students have exceeded all expectations with an excellent set of exam results. Despite the challenges of COVID, home learning and all the associated disruptions, the class of 2022 have defied the national trends and improved on the results of previous years.
67% of A level examinations were awarded the top A*-B grades and over 60% of students achieved Distinction* or Distinction grades on our Level 3 vocational programmes. With 92 A* and A grades and 36 Distinction* (star) grades, our students should be very proud of their achievements.
We are particularly pleased with continued strong performances in Art, Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Physics, Media, Psychology, Sociology, ICT and Health and Social Care where student results were up to one grade higher than expected from their GCSE results. As a result, many of our students have been accepted at prestigious Russell Group universities including Bristol, Imperial, Kings, LSE, Queen Mary, Southampton and UCL.
Special congratulations go to Ali Saliman, Dhruv Patel, Vishva Patel, Kundan Mahitkumar, Alfie Davis and Aarsh Amin who all achieved A*A*A*. As well as Medicine and Dentistry, Alperton students have embarked on a wide range of degree courses including Accounting, Business, Economics and Finance; Aerospace, Civil and Chemical Engineering; Computer Science; Nursing, Pharmacology, Pharmacy and Radiography; Psychology, Philosophy, Fashion, Politics, Law, Social work and History. The range exemplifies not only the broad range of our curriculum, but the wide range of student interests at Alperton Community School.
We were also especially pleased to hear that 14 of our students were accepted onto top-level apprenticeships with employers such as KPMG, Deloitte, IBM and PWC.
Alfie said, “I am really happy with my results and can’t wait to start my PPE course at the LSE.” Masih said, “I have really enjoyed studying at Alperton Community School. I really appreciate all the support I have had from all my teachers. I can’t wait to start my course in medicine at Bristol University”.
Gerard McKenna, Headteacher, said, “We are very proud of the excellent achievement and progress made by all of our students. We work closely together as a community of staff, students and parents to support every one of our students to meet their aspirational goals. Our students inspire us to continually improve and we have established and maintained an excellent track record of success. It is a real pleasure to work with such talented and committed staff who have created a vibrant and stimulating learning environment for our students. Our oversubscribed school includes world class facilities at our brand new lower school site and we have developed our upper school site to fully support the needs of our Year 11 and Sixth form students.
