On Thursday 15 November, we had the rare opportunity to welcome to our school the five-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton. Our students were honoured and thrilled to meet Lewis in person and to be able to ask him questions.
Lewis assisted to some of our lessons, played basketball with our Year 8’s and took part in an engaging question and answer session with our Year 11, 12 and 13 students.
Many thanks to the world’s best teacher Mrs Zafirakou for inviting him to our school and for creating this amazing opportunity for our students. Lewis was a huge inspiration to them and an exceptional example of hard work and commitment.
Our Headteacher Gerard McKenna commented: “It was very refreshing to meet a world-famous role model who was compassionate, genuine, thoughtful and humble, in spite of his enormous fame and wealth.”
