Last week, thirty of our Most Able Year 10 students attended a day visit to Jesus College, University of Cambridge. The visit allowed our pupils to explore what being a student at university, Cambridge in particular, could be like. They had the chance to speak with Cambridge undergraduates students, take a tour of the college and participate in various talks and activities that encouraged them to think about their university options.

The college was impressed with our students’ contribution to a seminar on philosophy conducted by the Assistant Admissions Officer. The students were able answer complex questions related to political and ethical issues and asked various questions that added to the depth of the discussion. Overall, our Most Able students were inspired to work hard and follow in the footsteps of current Cambridge undergraduates and former Alperton pupils, Shahir Ahmadi, Hamza Ahmadi and James Simkins. Thank you to Eleanor Humphrey, School Liaison Officer, and the Outreach team at Jesus College.
