On Tuesday 26 November, our Year 12 A Level Physics students had the opportunity to take part in a 2-hour lesson with Mr Henderson, a former headteacher and highly experienced physics teacher. During the session they covered the concept of superposition, stationary waves and their application to string instruments, like a guitar, topics which align with what pupils are covering in the ACS Science department curriculum.
The session was very engaging and included hands-on activities and a competition of which group can produced the most harmonics.
The workshop was a collaboration between Dr Mahmoud and Mr Henderson as part of the Ogden trust’s sustained professional development of physics teachers around the country. We would like to thank Mr Henderson and the Ogden trust for their support.
Mr Henderson will be joining us again in December to continue this amazing work.
