Our students in Years 7-10 were given the opportunity to submit their solutions for this year’s Southampton Maths Challenge, which consists of a set of interesting and challenging mathematical problems that students are expected to work on at home. This year, Vrishab, scored high enough to be invited to the awards ceremony at Southampton University, where he was awarded a Certificate of Merit. A huge well done to Vrishab for his hard work and resilience!
Here’s what Vrishab said:
“I was thrilled to be told that I had been invited to Southampton University awards ceremony after taking part in the Maths Challenge. We had a tour of the University and met other qualifying students, followed by dinner. I received my Certificate in a lecture room from a Maths Lecturer and also sat through a Maths Lecture. Overall, a lovely evening and a great learning experience.”
The ACS Maths department are looking forward to receiving more entries in the next academic year.
