Alperton Community School was thrilled to welcome representatives from HS2 and Balfour Beatty to work with our Year 7 students on an engaging and innovative ICT careers game. The game is aimed at introducing students to real-world applications of technology in infrastructure and construction.
The game provided a unique, hands-on experience that challenged students to think critically, problem-solve, and explore the vital role of technology in large-scale engineering projects like the HS2 high-speed railway. As students navigated the game, they learned about project management, sustainability, and digital innovation as well as careers in the industry, in an exciting and dynamic way.
HS2 and Balfour Beatty representatives shared their expertise and inspired our Year 7s with insights into how technology is shaping the future of transport and construction. The event was not only educational but also an excellent opportunity for our students to envision potential careers in engineering, technology, and related fields.
We are incredibly grateful to HS2 and Balfour Beatty for their collaboration and for bringing this experience to our school and we look forward to continuing to work together to inspire the next generation.
